Sensei Melissa Yates

Melissa Yates (ShoDan - 1st Degree) Sensei Melissa Yates, Daughter of Master Doug Yates. Melissa has been around and studying karate her entire life. Hanging out at the dojo karate was just what you did. She started getting serious with her training and began her journey to Black Belt.

After earning her Black Belt Sensei Melissa Yates started competing. Many folks compete as an under Black belt first, Melissa began her competitive career as a Black Belt and has been very successful.

Sensei Melissa Yates has been the All Miami Valley Tournament Association Champion many years. She is proud to represent Doug Yates Karate as an instructor caring on the family tradition of Martial Art Teachers.

Highlight of Melissa Yates journey was being inducted into the United States Martial Art Alliance Hall of Fame.
